Here is a little more info on what my sister in law Haili Elyse Shinn is doing to make a difference in kids lives. Im happy to give the mission statement and description of RAK to anyone interested. A brief rundown of RAK is a program giving custom birthday parties to kids stuck in group foster homes. Currently I am only in one in Seattle called Ryther. Each kid is there only 10 months so we get 1 shot at each birthday. Many of these kids have never had their own birthday party. I custom create any and everything they want. They tell me themes and favorite music, I bring everything I can find to decorate each party, games, art project, and loot bags for each child in the cottages. Currently we have 3 active cottages with 12 kids per cottage ranging in age from 5-15. I do my best to keep each party to around $30.00 total. I do receive donations here and there but have funded most of the past year on my own. Now that I am positive RAK is a program every group home across the nation needs, I can not do it on my own. Without some funding to back this non profit project it will never grow. Thank you so much for asking about RAK (Random Acts of Kindness). Im honored to be a part of this!
