Here is a lovely update from John and Helen who were kind enough - TopicsExpress

Here is a lovely update from John and Helen who were kind enough to adopt THREE cats from us a year ago - a mum and her two kittens. Jess was a heavily pregnant abandoned pet and was lucky enough to come into our care before giving birth to her four kittens. Please consider giving a home to a trio of cats (such as Pablo, Pebble and Paisley!) - not much more work than having a pair and youll get that warm feeling inside that youve helped to keep a family together! Hi Sally As today is the anniversary of Jess, Misty and Willows arrival I thought Id drop you a little note about them. As you might expect, they all have their own distinct personalities. Misty is starting to be more affectionate. Shes still not a big fan of being stroked, but will put it with a few mores strokes than she used to and a lot more when shes tired. Though she still gets lots of attention because she loves to be vigorously scratched on her cheeks. From time to time she will clamber over us, though its usually because we happen to be in her way rather than she wants something. When she does want something, she will sit in front of us, staring at us until we understand what she wants. Willow is at the other end of the spectrum for being affectionate. She loves to be stroked and thinks nothing of draping herself over us for hours on end. Shes very vocal, but not usually with a miaow. She chirupps throaty noises and kind of growls when she walks around with a toy in her mouth. Right on cue shes just leapt onto the table with a chirrup to announce he arrival and now shes climbed down into my chair and has forced me off it :) Jess is still the boss. Willow doesnt really give much time to Jess, except when she wants to coax her into giving her a chase. Misty on the other hand dotes on her, much to Jess annoyance :) Jess is a lovely cat and a keen gardener. Through the summer months she kept hopping over the fence into one of our neighbours gardens and coming back with plants that she would then want to eat. We made sure the plants werent poisonous and have planted some in our garden to try to encourage her. The neighbour is very understanding and is friendly with Jess. Apparently, she rolls around on their patio in front of the doors for attention. None of them wander very far or go out for very long. If we let Misty or Willow out on their own, they inevitably stay in our garden and dont wander any further than the end of the garden. Misty though becomes a different cat when youre in the garden with her. She comes to us for strokes and rolls around like a trained performer. Theyve all been a joy to have as company over the past year and somehow, 3 cats seems to be a good number. Ive included a couple of pictures I took today. The 3 of them relaxing after dinner, and a closer picture of Willow because she looks dark in the group shot. Just in case youre wondering, we dont have chains on those blinds! Kind regards John and Helen
