Here is a poignant warning about the most invasive agreement to public rights in modern history that will effect each and everyone of us here in Australia. The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement is an agreement that is being negotiated in secret that gives unprecedented powers to corporations over common rights and sovereign governments including us here in Australia. The Abbott federal government is now in negotiations with the US and other nations of the pacific rim over this TTP agreement. Please make yourselves aware of the TTP and stand up and voice your opposition to it before it is too late, for if it is passed it allows international corporations the right to sue our sovereign governments if they impose laws or regulations that impede their ability to make a profit. What this means is the public will have little power to stop mining/oil/gas companies from setting up where they want without them being able to sue our Governments for lost profits that we the tax payer will have to pay. This is serious and effects the public and our governments right to oppose an international corporation on environmental, health and intellectual property rights. While this clip is based in and about the US it mentions the effects it will have on all nations that become signatories to it and uses a CSG corporation suing the Canadian government as an example of what this TTP agreement means to our sovereign rights. We can NOT afford to keep our head in the sand about this.
