Here is a really cool story about an old car, sent to me by my buddy Butch Mooney - Too good to not share! Enjoy! Butch wrote: I was at Princess Auto in Kamloops on Sunday...I spotted a car identical to my dads old 41 Caddy. I was taking pictures when the owner and his wife came out and started putting their purchases in the trunk. I said I hope you dont mind me taking pictures as this is almost identical to my dads old 41 Caddy. he said no worries...I then told him my dads didnt have auto transmission like his nor a radio or spotlight...I asked him if he brought it up from the USA. He said, no...I got it here in BC...it has been all over but I tracked down the owner on the coast.. a guy named Mooney !! I said, That IS my dads old Caddy! he laughed and said..ya, have you still got the Red Falcon..I said, no and it was a Fairlane 500...he smiled and said he remembered talking with me and my car. Wow ! Small world! He lives in Salmon Arm and this Caddy is his daily driver..it was sure great to see the old beast still on the road. He showed me pictures and said he had to restore it twice.. the second time was because he was changing engines and was doing that in his barn. They went in to town and came home to find the barn pretty much burned to the ground...the car was a mess... a timber had fallen across the body about half way back...I couldnt believe the pictures...scorched to bare metal...no windows nor anything left that would burn.. myself I would have walked away..but he started over and these pictures enclosed are how it looks today ! Awesome dedication to restoring old cars..its all he does for a living. Anyway, thought I would share the pictures and history. Butch
