Here is an outstanding article by Amrit Hallan. The audacious article exposing the most depreciated word Communal-Secular. Brave journalists are orphans with no political patronage. Playing the secular-communal card is quite profitable in our country and it is a livelihood for many intellectuals, scholars, NGO-managers and of course, politicians. When you play this card, you don’t have to work. You don’t have to build roads. You don’t have to worry about setting up schools, colleges and universities. Let the cities, towns and villages remain in perpetual darkness. Accountability? What’s that? You see, the secular fabric of the country is more important than development, and once certain persons and organisations start calling you secular, there is no need to do something else.
