Here is another block I did today. It is a good learning tool. The background fabric was purchased at JoAnns. I pre-washed the fabric as we must do with all JoAnns fabrics. But with the sizing washed out the fabric now has no body to it and is thin (I can see my hand through it). Without starching it to help give it stability, it was hard to match points. The solid fabric was purchased at a Quilt Shop and the dress form fabric I dont remember where I bought it. I just liked it and I didnt care overly much about the quality because I bought it to cover my ironing surfaces. Another lesson here is poor contrast. Instead of using a light, a medium, and a dark fabric, there is one light fabric (background fabric) and 2 mediums. I feel this block pattern definitely calls for a combination of light, medium and dark fabrics. What do you think?
