Here is another similar series that bridges the rural aspects of Frontier House with the more modern period details present in Gordon around 1906 when the house was built. One of the biggest appeals of the Peter Nelson Home is the fact the house has been vacant since the early 60s and has not had all the well meaning re-muddling that many homes experienced in the last 45 years. While we certainly will need to add some modern conveniences (such as running water and septic) we want to be sensitive to the original form and function of the Homestead. When looking online for examples of sensitive rehabs of similar properties I have been horrified at the amount of liberties taken in the name of restoration.
