Here is even more from that original story posted here a days ago. The story in which seems to be taking on a life of its own now: Today I was given even more information pertaining to that visit to the campus a few days ago. Apparently one of the parties that had been granted permission to enter the campus years ago with a completely different agenda asked to come back and tour NSH again. This time this person was denied, so, this person bypassed NSH and went straight to Olympia with this request and was given permission. On the day that the tour happened, they brought themselves as well as some of their family. They looked around and talked openly about plans for the campus, those were to include taking everything down to create an industrial park. Also talk turned to restoring the railroad spur that runs to where the steam plant now sits, in order for a train to once again run to that location. (Not sure how that would work considering so much has built up around the property in recent years, but I guess there has to be some ideas in mind.) I was also told that Job Corps lease is up in July. I don’t know how long Job Corps is normally given leases from time to time, but I guess we will find out what they get. I was also informed that the prospective business owner has at least one relative that holds some sort of public office in the Skagit area. I remember a couple years ago I asked one of the parties involved if they had any vested interest in the proposed plans for the NSH campus on their webpage. That question not only went unanswered, but was deleted. So there you have it. You now know what I know thus far. As more info filters too me, I’ll pass it on. Until then, get involved, diligently. Ask the questions you have in your mind, and most important – make your feelings be known.
