The application is being upgraded and designed to be your one-stop communication app. This encompasses phone, text, etc.. Theyre not monitoring, theyre not scanning text. Ive removed myself from this group twice now expecting that I wouldnt have to block users from inviting me back. I see that isnt the case. Creating a group is a very poor way to spread your message, because youre literally forcing me to see it. The description of this group could have much less invasively been posted as a status update with encouragement for other concerned people to share it. Ive read plenty about the eyebrow-raising permission requests, and Ive made my decision rather than jump to conclusions as many knee-jerk reaction users have.
