Here is proof that human society has been in cultural decline for the past century or more. Since the founding of the United States of America, there have been many, many new governments formed throughout the world. But even with the United States as a model, not one new government has improved upon or even been as good as the United States. Moreover, except for the abolition of slavery a century and a half ago, such abolition being implicit in the founding principles of the United States, every significant change to American government has been a change for the worse, eroding the recognition and defense of individual rights. This proof is over and above the overwhelming evidence from the arts and other humanities.
