Here is the charity I have donated to, and also support regularly through Birds on the Blog - lethemhelpthemselves.org/projects They are supporting a number of important initiatives in rural Uganda, including providing education including business education to local children, and access to sanitation. Water is an extremely precious resource to them, and they have worked to improve access to local supplies raising the health and wellbeing of the whole village. All the money they raise goes directly to the project, there are no paid staff or executives - they rely on volunteers both to spread the word and deliver their direct services - have a look at the website for details of current needs including life-changing (for both parties) opportunities to spend time at the project working directly. I celebrate and salute every person who has dug deep and made a difference to a cause that matters for whatever reason, and nominate anyone who has yet to do so to join in and support a cause that resonates for you in a meaningful way
