Here is the completed Sunflower wall hanging. I took a class in fabric art in November. The story to go along with it is the following. My grandson grew planted a sunflower seed in 7th grade biology class. He chose the sunflower because he knew it would bloom in August, his Moms birthday month. On the way home, a bully took a whack at the stem and almost severed the tiny stalk. Of course, he was devastated. Mom placed two tongue depressors on each side of the stalk and they placed her in a large pot in the sunroom. Love and lots of water and sun later in the garden, the tiny stalk grew to 7 feet tall! My daughter took a photo of it at full bloom and I used that photo to recreate it . I gave the gift to my daughter and grandson on Christmas morning. They loved it. It is titled, Never Give Up!
