Here is the deal. As soon as someone shows you some disrespect, you immediately stop them and draw the red line to them incase it wasnt clear. Dont ever allow anyone to disrespect you. Dont ever allow anyone to use you. Be strong and speak up. Let that tongue of yours speak the feelings which are imprisoned within your heart. For if you do not from the beginning, people will step on you just as they step on a dirty cockroach running around the house. And this is something that really bothers me when it comes to some Muslims. We think because we are Muslims, we can treat each other the way we want, then simply forgive each other. Or we can be as unprofessional as we want with, because we are Muslims. Or we have to hook up each other all the time because we are Muslims, because if not, well be labeled as arrogant people. If someone is not convinced with your ideas or your proposals, it doesnt mean they are arrogant, it might mean your proposals were just bad. Sometimes people say but I dont want to be rude. I hate this line. So you cant be rude but they can disrespect you all they want? And who said speaking your mind is rude? Even if people are going to think you are arrogant after telling them youre uncomfortable with them, its okay! Let people think what they want to think. People will hate you. They will judge you. It doesnt matter. You know why? Because its very normal! As long as Allah is pleased with you, and as long as you say how you feel in a respectful manner, dont pressure your body and hold it in.
