Here is the irony. I am a advocate and fundraiser for Winn Feline Foundation specifically for the Bria Fund that raises money for research grants dedicated solely to FIP. We just finished up a big fundraiser at the end of April and I also made a large donation on behalf of the people in our FIP support groups. The day (Monday) I got a thank you letter in the mail from Winn was the same day Valentino was diagnosed with FIP. It was definitely a joke on me from the universe. I consulted with Dr. Legendre, one of the leading FIP researchers, today to try to makes some sound decisions for Valentino. I am trying a recent experimental medication (Polyprenyl Immunostimulant) that was used in one of the studies from the Winn grants, but I am afraid it was started too late and that the disease is too far advanced. Valentino is telling me that he might leave me in the middle of the night. He is resting at home comfortably. Pray for a miracle, but I told him it was okay if he wanted to go.
