Here is the race report. Scale LMP Long-time Sunday MTC racer Eliott Martinez joined us for the first time to race scale flexi cars on a Saturday night, bringing us up to seven starters for LMP. In the race, none of us exactly set the world on fire, with no one getting under six seconds, but my car was easy to drive and fast enough. However, up by 11 or 12 laps in the middle of the eighth heat, one of my lead wire clips broke; with no hot soldering iron around, it didn’t get fixed. That left an opening for James Meadours, who had battled for second place through seven heats with Eliott, Richard Sheppard, Isaac Miller, and Joe Legendre. James pulled away from the pack and sped toward my lap total of 204, but came up just one lap short. I got lucky, while James put on the real show. Final results (racer……laps……FT): 1.
