Here is the response I received from President of the Board, Bill Waite, regarding my email insisting on the right to vote on the facilities project. Note the statement about the final cost and how it will be paid for has yet to be determined. Really? have we not heard at previous forums about the range of 6 to 8 million dollars as well as discussion about how much we have in reserves and how much we might need to borrow? Over the past few days, several Board members and Staff have received emails from members of the Community insisting that they be eligible to vote on funding for the facility project in accordance with 11.05 of the Bylaws. While the Board does appreciate that the community is engaged in the facility planning project, it is extremely premature for the Board or staff to respond to the requests. While the planning and conceptual design phase for the project is moving forward, the final cost and how it will be paid has yet to be determined. The Board has several options available, and taking out a loan is only one of those options. As a Board, we are committed to keeping the community informed through this process and we promise to you, that you will be allowed to participate in the discussions and that you will be informed of the decisions as they are made.
