Here is the update we promised about the snowy owl we admitted at Dane County Humane Societys Four Lakes Wildlife Center on January 1st. During his exam we found some bruising on the outer edge of his left wing, a laceration on his left leg and evidence of trauma in his left eye. His blood work and x-rays were normal, and he is eating well. On Friday, the leg wound was cleaned up under anesthesia and should heal fine with some wound care. The trauma evident in his left eye is the most concerning injury and time will tell how his vision will be in that eye once it heals.
