Here is the weather make up information for Hays CISD. I have inserted it all here in this post. If it is easier for you to read on your phone or computer, here is a link to the same information on our website: hayscisd.net/weather The Hays CISD bad weather make up days for this school year are Thursday, June 5th and Friday, June 6th as scheduled on the published school calendar. The district must use both days this year because schools and offices were closed on January 24th and February 7th for inclement weather. President’s Day February 17, 2014 will remain a student holiday and staff professional development day. Graduation Graduations will not be affected. They will remain as scheduled and seniors do not return to school after accepting their diplomas. Hays and Lehman High School graduations are June 4th. Live Oak Academy graduation is June 5th. Final Exam Schedules Senior final exams will take place as scheduled to allow them to graduate as planned. All other final exams and end of year assessments will take place two days later than originally scheduled to allow teachers to make up the lost instruction time. No exam will be administered prior to its scheduled date and time. End-of-Year Teacher Workday The end-of-year teacher workday that was originally scheduled for June 5th will move forward. Teachers will have the option of making up this day on Saturday, June 7th or Monday, June 9th. This is the day teachers use to enter final grades, check-in equipment, and prepare their classrooms for the summer. Teachers who are working at summer school and have to attend the Monday, June 9th summer school staff orientation will need to make up their end-of-year workday on Saturday, June 7th. Summer School Hays CISD summer school will start as scheduled on Tuesday, June 10th. The 2013-2014 Hays CISD school calendar was approved by the Board of Trustees and published on March 26, 2012. Bad weather make up days are scheduled so that students can meet the state’s required 175 instructional days in a school year. If the district must cancel school for a day, the first designated bad weather day becomes an instructional day. If the district must subsequently cancel school again, the second bad weather day also becomes an instructional day. If school is canceled for more than two days, the district will either add additional days at the end of the school year or follow Texas Education Agency (TEA) directives.
