Here is what I encountered on the roads on my way into work this morning. I was the only one out there so I was able to stop to take each photo, even on 630. As you can see, roads are icy. In some cases even worse than yesterday as melted slush from the afternoon has frozen into a solid, smooth, sheet of black ice. ADVICE: As you think about driving in this morning, think about your route. I normally would drive down Chenal to 630. During icy weather I take W. Markham to Shakleford to 630. I choose a less hilly route. You too may have an option you dont normally take that will get you there on a flatter road. Also, consider sticking to main roads and highways instead of shortcuts and smaller roads. Yes, it may take longer because of more cars, but those roads are also in better shape. Finally, as you see from these pics, the left and right lanes of some interstates are still in poor shape. Stick to the center lane if you can.
