Here is what happened in the 45 race @ Orange, Texas ... Bud Nollman started on the pole but got a poor start off the dock. In the 1st half of the race Bud took out a buoy in turn 3 or 4, one of those "wearing it" on the pickle fork deals! Steve Merleau took the early lead in the race with Schmerbach & Nollman in hot pursuit. After fighting his way thru tough lap traffic w/ Mark in hot pursuit Merleau was able to hold the lead. Schmerbach began to fade & finally lost his engine.
