Here it is “The Guardian.” Now for the story on how this rod came to be. The 22Feb2014 started out like any other Saturday morning. I got up loaded the boat and headed out fishing by myself as I had done numerous times before. I wasn’t catching anything but still any day on the water is a good day. It was about 52-54 degrees that day so I was wearing warm clothes and the water temperature was about the same. As the day went on I changed spots several time trying to find some fish. When I got to what ended up the last spot of the day I remember stepping up on the bow of the boat. The next thing I remember I was in the water. Unfortunately I had never but my life jacket on as I had not done on countless other fishing trips by myself. The wind was blowing about 12-15 mph it was pushing the boat away from me and the seas were a little over one foot. I was unable to get to the boat fast enough. I’m not exactly sure how long I was in the water but on several occasions I thought I had taken my last breath of air. Luckily a gentleman by the name of Rick who had never fished the area before came by and seen my head pop above water. He said I went under three to four more time before he got to me and thought he had just watch a man drown before his eyes. But by the grace of God he Rick got to me in time. So again I want to thank Rick. I owe you a debt I will never be able to repay. And thank you to my wife, dad, momma, grandparents and countless others that have sent up hundreds if not thousands of prayers to God to keep me safe. I strongly believe that God put Rick at that place at that time for that purpose. And that’s how this build came to be. It is a very very small token of my appreciation to the man that was there to save my life that day. So that I could spend another day with the people I hold dearest. Tight lines and screaming drags God Bless All
