Here we go! I was asked to remount a simple quartz point pendant in 9ct gold. The first picture is the original pendant. The first challenge was to make a strip to fit around the crystal. Each crystal face/facet was a different length and angle, so each crease was in a different place. A groove was filed in each crease to sharpen it. The join and each groove was soldered with a high melting point solder (this is why it is glowing so brightly). Once soldered, the inside corners were re-sharpened and the fit checked. A lid was cut from a square piece of sheet and soldered in place with a lower melting point solder. All these pictures were taken without a tripod, so sorry about the quality.
