Here you go. what this young man has to say is true for people of all colors . and the fact is - slavery still exists. people are being sold, bought, mistreated, even today. something perhaps a lot of folks dont think about - if the slaves hadnt been brought here, then these current generations who are beating their chests and screaming about oppression would not be living here in a country where they are not only allowed to say it, but supported in their right to do so. They would not be living in a country where what they have to say is heard and considered. No, they would be living in a country where they would know true oppression, have no rights and could expect to be killed because they pounded their chests and screamed. there truly wasnt a single group from any other country that didnt pay its dues; that doesnt have generations who were abused, killed, enslaved, etc. The reason the pilgrims came here was to escape that type of treatment. The reason they ALL came here was to escape that life. Why arent the English, the Irish, the Scottish, the Swedish, the Russian, the German, the French, the Japanese, the Koreans, (I could go on but you get the idea) rioting in the streets, looting, stealing from each other and others in the same situations, burning, fighting and killing? Maybe because they werent given the chance to believe they were somehow entitled to things they didnt work for. Maybe because they had already seen that the way to make it here was to do what all of us should do - work for it. Earn it. This isnt about the color of a persons skin. This is about people. I work hard, my husband works hard, my sons work, my sister and brother-in-law, my brother, my mother, all work hard for what we have. We are white, we have no entitlements, we have no special programs, we get no handouts. We arent asking for any. Why should anyone else?
