Heres Toby, the star celebrity of The Special Parents Handbook. Everything I learnt about bringing him and my other two up is in there. He and I spent his first 6 years mostly in hospital - he was never supposed to have survived, but he did. Hes got the cognitive skills of a two year old, a condition so rare hes the only person in the world with it, he is also severely autistic, gastrostomy fed and needs 24/7 care. But when he is happy its contagious and he has the best grin in the UK!
