September 28 - Day 271 Nehemiah 8-10 The joy of the Lord is my strength! What a powerful statement that is. It is so easy in the 21st century to become weary. There are many times that the presence of the Lord is where I find myself retreating just to allow the Lord to refresh me in His presence and strengthen me to keep going. Ever felt like that? In another portion of Scripture, the bible says, ‘in His presence is fullness of joy.’ His presence brings us joy and the result of that joy is strength…how good God is to us! Do you need joy today? Get into the presence of the Lord. Do you need strength today? Get into the presence of the Lord. Another verse from today’s reading also stood out to me. The bible says that God found Abraham’s heart faithful before Him. Wow…how amazing is that? To have a faithful heart before God…what a beautiful thing that is! You and I can be faithful before God in our every day life. Faithful to Him through prayer, reading of His word, attending church, paying our tithes and offerings, forgiving those who hurt us, being kind to others, doing an honest day’s work for our employer…there are so many areas that we can be faithful before God in. I want the Lord to find my heart faithful before Him….that means not allowing anything that would not please God to dwell in my heart. Lord, search my heart today. I want to be faithful before You in every area of my life. Show me Lord areas in my life that I am not faithful unto You. I desire to be in Your presence today Lord. In Jesus name. Amen.
