Heres a Wessa fan fiction I wrote for Tiffany! If you would like one, just ask! They were beside the fountain again and this time he knew she was going to die. He could do nothing, say nothing, think nothing - he was an automaton just like all the others. A useless hunk of metal. It was like he had no emotions, no heart. But he could feel something inside him like a trapped bird in a tiny cage, its wings beat helplessly as the bars grew ever tighter around its dying form. He couldnt even turn his clockwork eyes away as she screamed and screamed and screamed and died. He could not save her. He sat bolt upright, his heart racing, sweat sheening his face. The bedcovers were tangled around his legs, the dim glow of the moon only just illuminating the outlines. His breathing was heavy as if he had just been running, his chest rising and falling with difficulty. He moved his hand to the side to check for her, like he did every night. Every night after the nightmare. All his breath seemed to escape in one long sigh as he felt the steady rise and fall of her sleep next to him. Next to him, that thought still amazed him. The fact that she had chosen to be with him, to marry him, to love him - it took his breath away every day. He flopped backwards on to the bed again, his dark hair like a stain on the pillow as he stared up at the ceiling, his thoughts too turbulent to even consider sleep again. He had never liked sleep, it sent all his ghosts to haunt him, torment him - he often felt like he wasnt allowed happiness. He turned his face to see hers, he could look at her for hours and never want to stop, she was the candle in his dark, dark world. Her hair was falling around her face in soft waves, her face so perfect in its trance of sleep as only the shadows of her dreams passed over. Suddenly she gasped, her forehead creasing, her eyes flying open wet with tears. Will, she whispered, her voice choked with tears and her shoulders shaking with sobs. Instantly he had his arms around her, drawing her close to him in a protective embrace. She buried her head into his chest and wrapped her arms tightly round his waist, her sobs trembling through her small frame. He stroked her hair rhythmically and whispered softly into her ear, his heart breaking every time a tear fell from her eyes. I had a nightmare, Will. She said, her voice low and muffled. So did I, He said, his voice so full of sadness and pain that she turned her face up to us, her expression tormented. Mine was about losing you, She said, her voice so low that he only just heard it. Mine was about losing you, too, Tessa. Clary Grace Prior
