Heres a brief account of my observation session last night. Time - TopicsExpress

Heres a brief account of my observation session last night. Time 23.00- 00.15. Place, 25 km outside Copenhagen. Weather, clear, windy. Sky, clear but with a hint of haze high up, I can usually see more and fainter stars. Found the old friends, Cygnus, Cassiopia, Polaris, Ursa Major and Minor etc. Pleased to see my winter friends Taurus and Orion although Orion low in the sky and Rigel only just poking up out of the orange glow on the horizon. I spent some time refamiliarising myself with some of the lesser constallations and stars, its been a long time since I looked up with the intention of serious study. Tried to make out the differences in magnitude of stars in Cyg and Cas but found this difficult for all but the brightest compared to the rest. Betelgeuse very clearly orangy red, Rigel bluish and Deneb white but that was all I could see. My eyes are older and not used to this kind of work plus I am sure there was some hazyness higher up. Anyway, with note taking and sketching down it was time to head home for bed. Next time I will hopefully be out after a quieter day/evening so less tired and a less busy day the day after would be nice. Also next time WARMER CLOTHES!!!! Clear skies to all:-)
