Heres a good one... These were our 2010 seniors. It was Halloween weekend and we had a competition somewhere in upstate New York and then NYS Field Band finals at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse the next day. Imagine pulling into a marching band competition at a HIGH SCHOOL in a HOOTERS bus!! The bus company really screwed up that time, at least they didnt give us two Hooters buses! Playing the Carrier Dome was cool, first time I had ever played in a really big stadium. I remember listening to drum captain Jimmy Ristanos taps as we marched onto the field thinking that each one sounded like a gun shot in that giant dome. The performance was a blur. During the retreat, the 58 or so of us were surrounded by a bunch of 150-300 member bands. Naturally, we didnt score very high in that competition, but those big bands were definitely impressive! Then I remember being fed pizza by the parents in the cold outside before snapping this photo of the seniors and heading home.
