Heres a little idea. We all know how big I am on personal responsibility right? Well it seems to me that all these companies want to be treated like people, but yet want to the protection for the individual employees that being a corporation brings. I posit that this is definitely a fundamentally unfair position. While I do believe that the government should not be able to make a person act against their beliefs, as I would not wish that for me. I also believe that if you want us to see you as individuals with rights, you must expose yourself as the rest of the individuals do. I am still not a proponent of Obamacare. I think it is deeply flawed, and fundamentally goes against my stance on government meddling in the market, but claiming your right not to have your beliefs violated in how you run your company, while simultaneously shielding your personal individuality behind the protection of a corporation is HIGHLY disingenuous. If you cant be prosecuted as an individual, than you cant claim the rights of an individual. In my opinion this goes for unions, and for for-profit corporations, as well as the public sector. This is the same as major corporations getting tax breaks for different things, and then screaming when the government meddles in their business. Once you have eaten from the hand of the master you cannot complain that the collar chafes. Personal freedom is personal freedom, and if you want your company to benefit from that, it needs to be a sole proprietorship, and unincorporated, then it is ALL your money, and your beliefs. Otherwise you are trying to have your cake and eat it too.
