Heres a poem with no rhythm that i wrote when I was really tired Feeling homesick (while at home) I woke up from a dead sleep today at 4:23 in the morning, and my stomach ached with unfullfilment. I want to buy a one way ticket away from every word Ive never said, even when I shouldve. I never got sick of the verdure of the hills outside my house until I related it to the color of your cheeks when I told you I had to leave. My mom always told me I was born into the wrong family, the way she appreciated simplicity and I always wanted more. When I was 5, she bought me a new bike for my birthday, and when I learned how to ride it, I always wanted to go past the end of the street. Now that I think about it, Ive always had wanderlust, even when I was a fetus I insisted on coming out two weeks early. I called you this morning and asked you to come with me, but you said you had family, and friends, and obligations. I will wait for you, and feel comfort in the way I can play connect the dots with the freckles on your cheeks till I see the Space Needle illuminated by your pale skin, and Ill always feel like Im sitting on the beach whenever I look in your eyes after I make you smile.
