Heres a summary of what we discussed in the Q&A with Mr Henry, regarding our move to Amanahraya. Why? (Rationale) -The Pusat Bandar Damansara/Main Block area is being redeveloped into a commercial hub, and HELP is taking advantage of this to improve services and infrastructure. -Wisma Damansara was found to not meet fire safety standards due to age, and upgrading the building to a sufficient level of safety would incur excessive costs. Who? (Parties involved) -Primarily academic depts. located in the Main Block/PBD and the Business dept for now. All support depts. (bursary, registry, etc) as well as the Centre for Quality Assurance and Student Placement, will also be relocated to the new building. Where? (Location) -A map will be uploaded to help.edu.my soon. We will be occupying all 11 floors of the building. -International marketing and main marketing depts will be integrated into a single dept., to better serve students. This dept will be located on the 5th floor of Amanahraya. -The building location is available on Google Maps/Waze/etc What? (Facilities) -There are altogether 5 lifts, which are sufficient to accomodate the number of students -The Amanahraya building will be completely refurbished. -Cafeteria will be provided -All food is Halal -A surau is available for use -Water fountains and vending machines are available -Parking will be allocated for staff, students, and visitors -Photoshoot locations are available -Lockers will be offered -The DSA will be located on the 5th floor -Areas for student & group discussion are available -PBD open-air parking will still be offered along with shuttle bus services. Parking at blocks A, B, & C of PBD will still be offered for the time being. -Applications are being made for ATMS to be installed, however students can access the nearby CIMB outlet for the time being. -Smoking is only permitted outside the building When? (Timeline/Timeframe) -Within the fourth quarter of 2014, beginning from mid August. The Business dept will only be moving in January. The timetable for moving of depts. is currently being worked out. How? (Services) -Parking lots are allocated at Wisma Damansara. RM5 per entry, RM150 for the monthly pass. -Shuttle bus designated pick-up points are as follows: 1) near GIant/PBD 2)Wisma UOA Bus Stop 3) Wisma Amanahraya Shuttle buses will run from 7am - 7pm. Lensa residents will gather at the Giant/PBD pick-up point -Public transportation is available, in the form of U82 and U83 buses. These buses will depart from KL Sentral and pass by Wisma Damansara and then Kota Damansara.
