Heres an early morning Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, from someone whos sleeping patterns are currently pretty ordinary. I hope you all made it to your various checkpoints of loved ones and comfort and good food and laughter. Though, if this year youre stuck at your outposts, away from your permanent reservations on the couch or seat at the table thats been in place since you were little, remember everyones thinking of you and misses you. If you can, find some other orphans of geography and share some chuckles and Christmas cheer within the reminder that youre growing older and things are starting to, or already have changed from the childhood comfort that youre hopefully used to (be brave). If not, everyones just a phone-call or a skype or a facetime away, and they all cant wait to hear your voice too. Hopefully you all have at least a brief respite from work, so get your head away from that for at least part of day and relax and enjoy all of the beautiful things (people) that make this day one of the most anticipated of the year in our culture. To reinforce this sentiment, heres a modern classic (Aussie too!) which in my opinion is the greatest Christmas songs ever written (followed closely by WHAMs attempt, of course). I genuinely well up a bit every time I hear it. Be Merry everyone, there are too many people without all of these things not to. Lots of love and Happy Christmas!
