Heres an update on Chandler! Chandlers Foster Mom had this to report! She also sent some updated photos. What a lucky boy he is. She takes amazingly good care of him. He is also very blessed that the Humane Society For Campbell Co decided to pull him for foster care. He is also so thankful so many of you donated, shared, and cared! Chandler is doing very well and feeling better each day. On Thursday, Oct. 30 He had surgery to fix the 2 broken bones in his front leg. Dr. Miller at Addison Animal Hospital performed his surgery. The surgery went very well. The bones had been broken for awhile and they were nasty breaks so it was a difficult surgery and will be a long recovery. Dr. Miller put in a plate with screws to fix the worst break. We are hoping for a great outcome. Chandler many walk with a limp and right now his paw is turned outward but Dr. Miller feels that Chandler will probably correct this as he heals. On Thursday, Nov. 13, Dr. Miller rechecked Chandlers leg & ears. Dr. Miller removed the splint on Chandlers leg so that he can start using it and not lose mobility in the joints. For a couple days, Chandler would not put the hurt leg down but he is now slowly starting to use it. Three times a day I move his paw & elbow back and forth to make sure hes not losing the mobility in them. Chandlers ears were just a horrible mess & so painful for him. Ive been putting antibiotic drops into his ears 2 times daily for @ 3 weeks. They look so much better now! Chandler has been such a good boy tolerating all the drops in his ears plus oral antibiotics & pain meds every day. Hes finally finished all his medicines! Chandler will be rechecked in about a week or so to make sure the bones are all healing correctly. This little boy has the sweetest and most loving personality! How he has remained so sweet and loving after having so many injuries and so much pain just amazes me! Chandler is still on quiet & rest for a couple more weeks. No stairs, long walks etc. He has a soft & warm bed in my basement so that he can heal in peace & quiet. My dogs and cat are so curious as to who is in the basement :) Chandler says THANK YOU to everyone for donating so that he could get his broken leg fixed and for all the get well wishes and love sent his way! He now has that second chance at having a wonderful and happy life - which he so deserves! Ill update everyone again after his next appointment with Dr. Miller. I just cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Miller & his staff at Addison Animal Hospital- theyve just been so great!
