The music for 3 Libras was written by Billy Howardel, the bands guitarist, and the lyrics and melody were written by the vocalist, Maynard James Keenan (who, if you care to know, is also the vocalist for Tool, a popular progressive rock band, and Puscifer, a more experimental, electro-rock group). Maynard is a favorite vocalist of mine, and A Perfect Circle is an excellent rock supergroup (check out the present and former members!). The song is in 6/8, but I have split each measure in half to account for the frequency of the chord changes (treat each chord division below as if it fits a 3-beat phrase). The figures, with some minor variations, are as follows: The intro/outro: Asus2 - Asus2 - Asus2 - C#min Asus2 - Asus2 - Asus2 - C#min - D - D - D - D (last time only) The Verse: Asus2 - E - B - Cmaj7 The Bridge: E - C - F Dont worry about the presence of such chords as the Asus2 (which is not nearly as intimidating as its name might seem to indicate), C#min, B, and F, since each chord will be slightly altered to have a simple, open chord shape.
