Heres another case which is earlier similar to that of Justina Pellitier. It seems we have an silent epidemic of children being legally kidnapped by hospitals and the state when the parents of chronically ill children desire a second opinion. I would think that doctors should be confident enough of their diagnosis to have it reviewed by their peers at another hospital. Instead, they are blaming the rare disease on the parents and are calling child welfare officials to allege medical child abuse. Apparently, this young mans symptoms have continued in foster care even though he is not allowed contact with his mother. He is also physically at-risk since he has been placed with a foster family in inner city Chicago where bullets regularly hit innocent bystanders in their gang wars. Talk about culture shock for a boy from rural MO! I am praying that he will be returned home at his next court date.
