Heres my contribution to Singapore indie rock (for SG-50, we really shud be paid cos Govt has lots of money). A rare pic of Zircon Lounge backstage at a Rediffusion concert (maybe a Hitachi event) held at the Padang where Speedway also played. I think we were the only two English bands that performed there that night. The gig also unwittingly connected band-manager Kelvin Lim to us later (he was Speedways manager then and also Heritages; and more recently, briefly managed Zsa & Clair). I remember we covered The Dream Syndicate that night. Of course, the audience was not rapturous. Who the fck are these creatures and simmi ang-moh songs they sing, hah? Yeow Tan is third from left. And yes, it was before Dick Lees The Mad Chinaman.
