Heres my one blatantly political post for the next 6 months, lol. While Im happy with the election results from yesterday, it still takes the two sides (President & Congress/Senate) to work TOGETHER to get things done for America. Former (D) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said it right last night in his message to the new (R) Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, “The message from voters is clear: They want us to work together. To me, Reid clearly acknowledges the fact that the two sides were not working together and that they had their agendas. Ill never understand why it took him this long to realize that fact. When these statements are made during a power shift, it holds less water with me. Heres the thing, President Clinton, while I dont agree with his ethics, or many of his policies, worked amazingly well with a Republican dominated Congress for the majority of his 2 terms in office, so it is possible for the two sides to try to serve the interests of the people that put them in office. The question is, WILL THEY. I already know my Democratic minded friends are going to start pointing fingers and leaving negative comments (some of you may surprise me though), as will some Republican minded friends. Put the parties aside,, and think about it for a second...are you a Democrat, Republican or an American first? Its time to end this political BS and get back to truly serving the needs of the country and those of its interests and people. Put your agendas to the side. This post is more about doing what is right as an American, instead of all of the hot-headed bureaucracy that seems to dominate every single conversation that is the least bit political.
