Heres my take: Im glad the Os are standing strong. They offered Cruz 3 years, basically saying we loved what you did for us, and we would like to have you back, but were not willing to cross the line to get you back. Im down with that. Cruz gave us lots to cheer for, but being real. That was his best season of his career, hes only getting older, the only thing he really offers is power, and that will decline with age, and hes had some injury issues in the past. As for Markakis, sounds like a similar deal, the Orioles have their amount of years and money in mind and Markakis wants more. Markakis is not a talent Id overpay for either, so I hope the Os continue to hold their ground. If he doesnt like his other offers and wants to come back then cool, if not, Im cool with it. Some of you want the Os to throw the checkbook at Cruz and Markakis but thats thinking with your hearts, not your mind.
