Im no doubt going to get my head shot off for this, but I have never been a coward and Im very saddened and wearied by the problems hanging over the town, as that should not be what Darlington is about. There are things we concerned ordinary people need to protest about as I well know, and those on the council urgently need to discuss these things with the relevant people involved. Ive posted this message on Darlington Liberation Armys page already, and so DBC and others who have been following the current protests will see it too Im posting it here also… (everyone), Im mainly keeping out of all this just now, as I have too much going on in my own life to deal with, so have a good kick at me if you want as one more wont really make much difference to someone at an all time low. However one thing I want to say is that all this mistrust, inaccuracy and paranoia is just confusing the issue!. Conspiracy theories about everything and everyone are not productive, and I for one am getting bored with them, as in many cases (although not all), they are just misunderstandings on all sides. Justified protest is a right, seeking the truth is desirable, pointing out obvious wrongs and mistakes are essential, but unsubstantiated accusations are another thing entirely. OK, I guess now Im in league with both the council and the newspaper - neither of which are true of course, as I am my own person and try to be fair, honest but realistic. I think sound and dignified arguments based on valid facts and truth are the vital elements in all of this, and I am not hearing those things from anyone just now. It is about time this was brought to a head for all concerned before everyone lives to regret it. You are all intelligent people for Gods sake, and there must be a less distressing way of getting the valid points we would all like to make for the common good of our town over, without all the time and vitriol which is being expended on this? The problems the town is facing are not going to go away unless everyone faces the truth of the matter, so find a venue, get the right people from both sides along, plus the Northern Echo which I am certain is only interested in reporting news, whatever any of you say, and get some dialogue going between DBC and DLA, and if they want to join in members of the community that this is affecting too. That perhaps would be a starting point from which things could move forward?
