Heres our normal-but-not-normal day: - morning cruising 101 with new sailors in Totems main cabin, helping them think through what they want from autopilot to SSB. - picking up a rental car in a parking lot: no ID, no forms, no credit card, no insurance waivers, nothing but cash thankyouverymuch. - deliver solar panels to a friend - lunch in town with cruisers at a non-halal hawker center, talking about far flung travels as if it was a trip to the grocery store - tracking down the ice house to buy a few blocks in an attempt to keep our defunct fridge box chilled - finding one out of ten items on a shopping list after going to three hardware stores - driving to the gas station that doesnt care if you illegally buy subsidized fuel in quantity: fill two 5 gallon jerries, trying not to splash around too much in the large puddle of fuel around the leaky pump - squnt through clouds of fruit flies at the grocery store to find OK onions and potatoes - dodge monkeys on a hairpin road back to the harbour. - carry 200 lbs of ice, diesel, and groceries from the car to the dinghy for MUCH ANTICIPATED SUNDOWNERS.
