I recently shot a series of television commercials for the Automobile Dealership syndicated market, titled You Get More for Lease. The television commercials are part of a turnkey prepackaged advertising campaign that comes along with radio commercials, print, and direct mail. Five commercials were shot at several locations around the Rogue Valley utilizing local crew members and talent. My partner Mike, had wanted to shoot the footage in the LA area where his son is a film editor and well connected for production. However, I knew we could assemble a high quality crew and talent from our local pool and produce national quality commercials right here in our own backyard. I started calling some of the folks I had met at the monthly SOFaT Cameras & Cocktails to put a crew together. I found the rest on the SOFaT crew listing or they had previously worked with me. Ultimately, the connections through SOFat proved to be invaluable. The shoots were magical and everything went smoothly. The commercials are in post and should be done within a few weeks. If you are someone who is looking for more work in production, or as an actor, I highly recommend being a member of SOFaT and getting acquainted with us, there is plenty of work to be done.
