Heres some general information regarding our Young Living Clinic in Ecuador: Nova Vita Anti-Aging Spa S.A. Centro Para Medicina Natural Longevity, Rejuvenation and Natural Healing Center Av. Las Monjas # 115 June 1, 2008 Entre Circunvalacion y Costanera Urdesa Central Guayaquil, Ecuador Tel: Out of Country: 011-593-4-288-3408 Tel: In Country: 04-288-3460 E-mail: novavitacenter@hotmail Nova Vita (New Life) is dedicated to helping people heal their bodies with natural God-given tools and life style changes. Our atmosphere is like a family. Everyone cheers for each other’s success and we all work to encourage and help each other. The weather is between 80 and 90 degrees all year. The rainy season is from January to April but the temperatures are still warm. The weather is beautiful and at best you would need only a sweater and an umbrella (the rainy season is from approximately January to April). Don’t bring heavy clothing or clothing that is made from a thick material. Most people like to wear cotton clothing the best, and the dress attire is very casual while at the clinic. The Nova Vita Center is located in the heart of the business district of Guayaquil, Ecuador about 15 minutes from the International Airport. If you have not arranged to be picked up, you can take a taxi to the clinic which, at the most, would cost between $4.00 and $5.00. The Center is open from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Major airlines such as Delta, Continental, American, Copa Airlines (copaair), Lan Ecuador (lanchili or lanecuador), and Avianca have direct flights out of various cities in the United States. Air France and Iberia fly directly from Europe. (We do not recommend Copa Airlines) While taking treatment, the patients can bask in the sunshine while sitting around the swimming pool in a resort atmosphere surrounded with palm trees and beautiful plants or read a good book or watch a fun movie in the coolness of the air conditioning. When coming to Nova Vita, you will be greeted at the airport by a driver who will take you to the place where you will be staying or bring you directly to the Center. Just look for a Nova Vita sign with your name on it. Our protocols are personally designed for each individual that include many different therapies such as neuro-auricular oil therapy, massage, Raindrop therapy, Vita-Flex therapy, colonics, Vax-D for back problems, infared saunas, hyper-gravity vibrational therapy, nutritional diet, modified juice fasting, Synergy treatments for the body along with body wraps with oils. There will be an exercise program also for each patient. There are protocols for intravenous treatment with essential oil compounds such boswellic acid, limonene, and terpinenes (a natural non-toxic therapy), regulating and balancing the catecholamines of the neuron-transmitters that strengthen the immune system and suppress degeneration, and IV chelation. We also have a complete gym for your fitness program and therapies as well as for your enjoyment so be sure to bring workout clothing and runners with you. If you don’t have this type of clothing, it is very easy and plentiful to buy. Everyone will have a workout/ training program. We have a swimming pool, so bring your bathing suit for water therapy or just simple enjoyment. If you are having Synergy treatments, you will need white, silky bikini under clothing. It is very important to bring your own Bible or that which you use for spiritual enlightenment and study. We at times have informal classes on nutrition, health and spiritual discussion. We encourage patients to have a positive attitude, involve them in goal setting, emotional healing, etc. We want our patients to enjoy a peaceful, restful and uplifting time while they are healing. All three meals are provided in the clinic Monday through Friday. On Saturday, only breakfast and lunch will be provided. Patients who are drinking juices will have juices to take home in the evenings and on Saturdays. No food service is provided on Sunday, but we will send food and juices with you on Saturday for your Sunday consumption. You will not need to do much cooking while you are here as a patient. Some core essential foods will be available for cooking on Sundays in patient housing such as oatmeal, quinoa, rice, beans, some fruit and vegetables. Meals are basically vegetarian with a little fish or chicken depending one’s dietary needs. Exotic fresh fruits and vegetables are in abundance as well as fabulous juices common to Ecuador. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and mostly organic and very delicious such as mango, papaya, pineapple, watermelon and many that you probably have never heard of which you will certainly enjoy. Our patient housing is a newly built 3 story home that has six bedrooms, six bathrooms located about four blocks away from Nova Vita Center. We have our own washer and dryer at the patient housing where you can wash your clothes, bedding and towels. The dryer runs on propane so be conservative as the tank has to be replaced/refilled when empty. There are also dry cleaning and washing facilities in the local area for your convenience, however, that will be your responsibility and cost. You may however want to bring your own chemical free laundry soap or Thieves cleaner if you are sensitive. There are some gentle soaps for sale in the stores here for children and some which say “hypoallergenic and non-irritating to the skin”. Although we provide a cleaning service at patient housing, you are still responsible for doing your own laundry, cleaning dishes and keeping the kitchen and your living quarters clean and orderly. We also have internet service at both the house and at Nova Vita Center, so feel free to bring your lap top computer. The electrical outlets are the same as in the United States and Canada. There is a phone at patient housing and also a patient cell phone which must be kept in the designated area of the living room area. You can purchase phone cards in Guayaquil at very reasonable prices and use them for making phone calls to family and friends while you are here. Your phone call costs are your financial responsibility as they are not included in the cost of being treated as a patient. For anyone who is accompanying a patient but is not a patient, it is possible to buy bread (made with sugar), yogurt, butter, cheese, etc. You cannot buy good jams or jelly or anything else that is “spreadable.” You can buy walnuts, almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, raisons, granola, organic applesauce, and other dried fruits. Almost everything in the grocery stores contains sugar, salt, preservatives, food coloring and other chemicals. The people here eat a lot of sugar, white flour, chocolate and fried foods. There are no typical health food stores here, only stores that carry mostly oriental and GNC type supplements. We ask the patients to please NOT bring anything to eat that will conflict with their treatment or they will be defeating their purpose for being here which will greatly impede their healing. Patients are asked to not eat salt, black pepper, sugar, fried food, white flour foods, milk or milk products, any processed food or juices, coffee, definitely no soda pop, chocolate, or foods with chemicals such as food coloring, preservatives and synthetic flavorings. Taxis are also inexpensive and available everywhere and easy to hire for places you would like to go. A taxi from the airport to the clinic should cost between $4.00 and $5.00. Guayaquil is a big city of about three million people. You can see the very modern and the very old. There are big, beautiful, American-type malls next to primitive homes on stilts. Shopping is fun and there are a few people who speak English especially in the malls. Guayaquil has a fabulous bus system that will take you anywhere if you are brave enough to try it. Car rentals are very expensive (about double or triple that in the U.S.). Many things have American prices and others are very inexpensive. Ecuador uses the American dollar so you don’t have to change any money. They use our coins and their old coins together. It makes it easy if you come with a few $1 and $5 dollar bills as well as a few 50 cent pieces so you are prepared for tips. We suggest carrying 50 one dollar bills, and another 50 in five and ten dollar bills. We suggest not bringing 100 dollar bills because most establishments don’t like to take them and many of them won’t take them because they simply don’t have the cash to change them. Tipping is a way of life here so you will find yourself tipping for just about everything and usually 50 cents is good. At the airport there will be many porters to help with the luggage. They will take it off the belt and carry it to the scanner (all luggage including carrions, purses, cameras, diaper bags, etc. have to go through a scanner to enter Ecuador). Porters will then carry your baggage out for you right to the taxi or to whoever is picking you up at that time. Generally $1 is sufficient as a tip. Credit cards are used in the malls and most commercial businesses. But do not expect it everywhere. We suggest that you do NOT bring travelers’ checks because they are almost impossible to cash. Only the Central Bank will cash travelers’ checks and this bank is located in the center of Guayaquil which is far away from the clinic. It would not be a happy experience to take a taxi to this place.
