Heres take 2 on mid-range scooping attempt of a standard-E tuned stock Razorback. The sound seems heavier if I scoop it right out of the guitar, then apply the gain to the scooped audio. Im using a lot less gain than I do normally, but the stock humbucker pickups in the Razorback are decaying quite a bit. I have a Dimebucker on the way for the bridge and will use DR strings - but otherwise keep the Razorback as stock. If any anyone is interested, I could post a follow-up with the Dimebuckers in it, my Dixie Rebel - with Dimebuckers - does sound heavier.
