Heres the thing: If I could just sit down with everyone, all of humanity, face to face, in a quiet voice Id like to tell all of you ... Stop. Just stop. Take just a minute, one minute and look around. Theres a madness in the world, an insanity. Were all suffering from it. Wars and poverty, hunger and homelessness, violence and injustice, the murder of innocents, racism and inequality and the poisoning of our Mother Earth. You and I, we know its madness. We do. Under our anger, under our endless divisions and spiteful debate, we know. Under our pride and our ego, we know its madness. If you are a parent, look at your child. Every parent in the world wants for their child what you want for yours. Not to suffer hunger, or disease, or meaningless death at the hands of police or armies. To drink clean water and breathe clean air, to grow up and find love and happiness. Forget everything but that. Put aside the ideas of faith that divide us, the ideas of nationalism that divide us, the ideas of greed and profit that divide us. Someones child, your child, is hungry right now. Someones child, your child, has no home. Someones child, your child, is dying for ego, profit and greed. Someones child, your child, is crying in fear and pain. This is madness.
