Heres what really bothers me: So I keep a candy dish at work. Its open to anyone that needs a bit of sweet (i have a small separate dish that has sugar free sweets too). Besides a very, VERY select few who give me a bag of candy for it every so often, i maintain it myself, out of my own pocket. I dont mind doing this. I like making ppl smile and if i can do that through a sweet treat i will gladly spend a little to make that happen. The problem comes when someone who has never given me anything towards the candy, yet takes from the dish, complains about someone else taking from the dish. Let me restate this: my candy dish is open to EVERYONE. Just bc when others utilize the candy dish means the one currently complaining might get the piece they want does NOT mean they have a right to talk to me as if i should set rules on MY dish. If you didnt get the piece you wanted, suck it up and go to the vending machine.
