Heres your weekly reminder SWFL. The State of Florida is very invested in the business of placing refugees in our local communities. The below is the updated State Solicitation for contractors to provide refugee services here in SWFL. Once a non-USA citizen is classified as a refugee, the federal dollars flow right into Florida. This includes all those illegal kids that simply walked across our Southern border. These refugees are placed in our communities and enter into our school systems and local job market. Last year alone, there were 53,000 that were located in Florida. Our economy and culture cannot afford this practice. To stop this, our legislators and Governor simply need to stop participating in the federal grant program. Note that Florida Refugee Services website states that Florida does not have authority or jurisdiction to serve Unaccompanied Alien Children. They simply refer back to the feds, who reclassify them as Refugees. And, even if Florida is not receiving the kids (which we are), when do the people get a voice in this? When is enough, enough? And, with all the preferences give to these refugees when can an American citizen qualify to be a refugee?
