Here’s some news I’m ready to share. I’m excited to tell you that on 8/11/14 I had a procedure called a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG). It is a weight loss surgery where the majority of your stomach is removed, leaving a sleeve the size of a small banana. It’s not a lazy solution, instead it’s a tool. I wasn’t morbidly obese, but I’ve carried, lost, and carried again too many extra pounds. The result was a growing number of what are called co-morbidities (like sleep apnea and Type 2 Diabetes). Then after lots of research and discussions with Don, I moved ahead. I’m doing very well. For reference, when I began this journey in April my weight was 222. Surgery day, 200. Today, 185, heading for about 150 (I’m 5’7”). Anyhow, life goes on, and this life is going on healthier!
