Here’s the 3 minute trailer for our music theater work “Cybeline” – a study in the art of wackiness; a shamanic cartoon; a kind of video opera; a pseudo-superficial exploration of the dialectics between technology, nature, and women. I wrote the text and drew all the cartoons I interact with throughout the piece. William wrote the music and created the video. We premiered it in 2004 in the black box theater REDCAT which is part of Disney Center in L.A. under the auspices of Cal Arts. Our distinguished host was Edward Carroll, the head of Cal Arts’ innovative brass performance program.
