Heritage Day (Afrikaans: Erfenisdag) is a South African public holiday celebrated on 24 September. On this day, South Africans across the spectrum are encouraged to celebrate their culture and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions, in the wider context of a nation that belongs to all its people. A good idea for us in Transylvania and why not, in Romania. For example, we can have a common Heritage Day in 23 February, when king Matia Corvin/Hunyadi Mátyás/Matthias Corvinus was born. A regional holiday for all romanians, germans, hungarians, etc... Photos, 1. Matthiass great coat-of-arms. In the middle are personal coat of arms of Matthias Corvinus (Quartered: 1. Hungarys two-barred cross, 2. Árpád dynasty, 3. Bohemia, and 4. Hunyadi family) and that of his wife Beatrice of Naples (Quartered: 1. and 4. Arpad dynasty – France ancient – Jerusalem Impaled; 2. and 3. Aragon), above them a royal crown. On the outer edge there are coat of arms of various lands, beginning from the top clockwise they are: Bohemia, Luxemburg, Lower Lusatia, Moravia, Austria, Galicia–Volhynia, Silesia, Dalmatia-Croatia, Beszterce county. 2.
