APHRODITE I was brought forth from the aphros of my mother that was caused by the castrated genitals of my father, Ouranos. While from the foam I was born, from the blood came the dreaded Furies. After my birth, I was brought to the island of Cyprus and then I was brought to the assembly place of the gods, Mount Olympus. My husband is the lame god, Hephaestus, and my lover is the war god, Ares. I am in the lives of mortals more than any god or goddess. Without me, Jason would have never gotten the Golden Fleece, without me,Pygmalion’s statue would have never come to life, and without me, my son, Aeneas, would have never founded the Romans. My domain stretches from the Underworld all the way to the heavens. Not even the gods can withstand my power. For love conquers all. I am Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and I am the oldest of the Olympian gods.
